Audra Russell writes books and short stories about simple lives disrupted by unfamiliar outside forces.
She has been a camera operator, an academic advisor, a computer installer on Capitol Hill, and a real estate agent. She is passionate about growing her own food and has a backyard farm.
When she isn’t writing or spending time with family, she’s reading. She checks out way too many books from the library and buys used books from small bookstores and Amazon.com. This obsession has resulted in book piles next to her bed that resemble the Manhattan skyline.
She lives in Maryland with her husband, three children, an immortal dog named Fred, two cats who use her for affection, and four tomato-stealing chickens.
And she loves the smell of books. And freshly sharpened number two pencils. And scotch tape.
